Insitu Investigation

The type of insitu investigation will depend on the site conditions and the proposed site end use. Our trained staff will advise you on the best investigation strategy to meet your particular requirements. This may involve several different investigation techniques to ensure that the ground is adequately investigated.

Trial pits are commonly used to examine the near surface ground conditions.  Boreholes are required to check ground conditions at greater depths.  Sometimes, more specialist techniques such as geophysical surveys are also used.

Our trained geologists are on hand to log the exploratory holes, obtain representative samples and provide ongoing geotechnical advice.  The investigation is normally supplemented by insitu and laboratory testing and longer term monitoring (such as groundwater levels).
